Shocking Update: Virgin River Season 6 Gets an Unexpected Release Window, Coming Soon

Season 6 of Virgin River had been shelved by Netflix, but the streaming

platform backtracked by promising a faster release of its series. The 2024

release schedule is already full for Netflix, which unveils new releases or highly

anticipated sequels every month, between season 4 of The Umbrella Academy or the final chapter of Stranger Things. But while many productions have been given all the spotlight, some have fallen by the wayside.

Virgin River has been impacted by significant delays, so much so that the streaming site has decided to push back the release of season 6 to 2025. However, while no exact date has yet been officially given, fans of the series could well see the light at the end of the tunnel thanks to the words of Ted Sarandos, CEO of Netflix.

Indeed, during an interview about the company’s second-quarter results, the director said: “Just before the end of this year, we will have the return of Squid Game, the return of Emily in Paris, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind, and Ryan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monsters.”

Filming for season 6 of Virgin River began in February 2024, and there is no confirmation that production will end since then. But considering the release of season 5 and Ted Sarandos’ comments, fans can still expect a release window between November and December 2024.

For viewers, the news already means that the series will resume its good habits and present episodes for Christmas. In any case, this is what Internet users are saying on a Reddit thread: “Yessss!! No more Christmas episodes!” one fan posted, to which a second added: “Yaaaay! Good news. This will be a great winter entertainment, I can’t wait to see what’s in store… I hope Mel can finally have a baby.” And for a third, the news of a faster arrival is more than welcome to calm his impatience: “Yes, I can’t wait. I want to see Mel and her father’s story and I know Brady has more problems ahead.”
