Behind this captivating scenery is W. Robert “Fluffy” Millar, a seasoned location manager and scout. Since 1997, he’s been instrumental in securing memorable spots for numerous films and series, including A Dog’s Way Home, Shooter, and the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, all shot in Vancouver.

“Living in B.C., I’m constantly inspired by the incredible locations,” Millar shared during a 2022 interview on the Virgin River set. “With geo-tagging on our phones, I can easily capture stunning spots and revisit them when needed.”

While filming Season 5, Millar opened up about the challenges of capturing the beauty of British Columbia, especially when working on the steep slopes of mountains.
