What is Virgin River about?
Virgin River tells the story of Melinda “Mel” Monroe, a nurse looking for

a fresh start after losing her husband, Mark. The first two seasons follow Mel as she adjusts to small-town life, while the third and fourth seasons delve deeper into her relationship with Jack. Season five picks up right where the finale left off, with the bombshell of Charmaine’s paternity and Preacher’s fight with Vince.

The show is based on Robyn Carr’s best-selling book series. “I’m so happy with the series,” she told Parade magazine. “It just keeps going and everyone loves it. With 21 books to draw from, it means we can grow old together.”
Where was Virgin River filmed?

Contrary to popular belief, Virgin River was primarily filmed in Vancouver, Canada—not the United States. The crew also set up base camps in several nearby locations, including Snug Cove, New Westminster, Squamish, Agassiz, and Port Coquitlam.

Other filming locations included the caretaker’s cabin in Murdo Frazer Park in Canada, which also served as Mel’s cabin. The Watershed Grill, located in Brackendale, was used for exterior shots of Jack’s Bar. Oh, and Vernon “Doc” Mullins’ Family Practice is located at 122 First Street in New Westminster.
