   After receiving a voicemail from Joel, DD Bailey plays it for DS Lisa Swain, who suspects it might be a suicide note. When Joel’s phone signal is tracked, his car is found parked on a bridge with a folded note on the dashboard, prompting the police to search for his body. However, DD isn’t convinced and suspects Joel may have fled, especially after learning he had already recouped deposits for the wedding and honeymoon. Despite her doubts, Lisa urges her to accept that Joel is dead. But is that really the case?
2. Bernie Winter’s plan for Paul Foreman’s ashes
   With Paul’s funeral approaching, Billy Mayhew suggests that he and Bernie Winter choose the flowers together, but this leads to another argument. Bernie confides in Dev Alahan that she may not be able to give Paul the funeral she had hoped for but intends to find a fitting place for his ashes. On the day of the funeral, Billy is shocked to see Paul’s drunken father, Denny Foreman, lurking in the shadows of the church. After the service, Bernie reveals her plan to send Paul’s ashes into space, but how will Billy react to this unusual idea?
3. Desperate measures to pay for Bethany Platt’s care
   Unable to access her voicemail from Turkey, Sarah Platt asks her ex-husband, Adam Barlow, to check her messages. Adam is stunned to hear a voicemail from Damon Hay, Sarah’s ex-boyfriend. Meanwhile, the Turkish hospital refuses to pay Bethany’s medical bills, prompting her grandmother Gail Rodwell to suggest selling the family home, which horrifies David Platt. 4. Hope’s vape drama and Fizz’s illness
   Tyrone Dobbs plans a romantic dinner to make up for Fizz’s ruined birthday, but things take a turn when Fizz experiences dizziness at work and decides to see a doctor. 5. Mason Radcliffe’s sad confession to Stu Carpenter
   Stu Carpenter is taken aback when he finds Mason working early at Speed D after spending the night there to avoid another beating from his brothers. Having been in a similar situation, Stu wonders if he can help Mason, who shows a vulnerable side. However, will the locals be able to accept Mason, a former bully, as time goes on? Can Mason redeem himself in the eyes of the community?
