Kit Green will betray his mother Bernie Winter by revealing his identity to siblings Gemma
and Paul in new Coronation Street scenes. Next week’s episodes on ITV1 and
top streaming service ITVX will see two different storylines for the Winter family intersect,
as Bernie’s children Gemma and Paul discover that they have a long-lost brother.
Earlier this year, Bernie discovered that her long-lost son Kit was now working as a detective in Weatherfield but he made it clear he wanted nothing to do with her or his siblings.
Meanwhile, Gemma is facing a potential legal case after she stole a pair of shoes from a local shop that happened to be owned by the father of one of Joseph’s friends.
Kit will be drawn into his sister’s arrest, leading Bernie to decide that it’s time to come clean to Gemma and Paul about their brother.
Next week, Bernie is waiting for Kit in the Rovers to discuss how to break the news to her other children, but Kit is already at No.5 to share the family secret.
This revelation understandably puts a strain on Bernie’s relationship with the twins, leaving a heartbroken Bernie to confide in Dev about how her family is more divided than ever.
There’s another awkward scene when Beth Tinker tries to flirt with Kit on the street, yet she is stunned as Kit reveals he’s Bernie’s son and the twins’ brother.
Gemma and Paul later decide they are going to buy a wreath for Kit’s adoptive mum following some sad news, while Dev advises Bernie to send her own floral arrangement.
Will Bernie be able to talk the twins around?
