Where did the idea for this romance come from and what awaits the couple in season 6 of “Virgin River”? Series showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told Deadline how he came up with the idea to pair Muriel and Cameron up in the first place.

The showrunner decided to give the idea a chance – and that’s exactly what happened. He added that Teryl Rothery and Mark Ghanime did a great job with their on-screen chemistry. The actors also had a lot of fun with the musical performance that we saw in the holiday episode.

But the holiday episodes of Virgin River Season 5 also outlined the problem that their relationship could face. First, Muriel doesn’t want to start a family, and Cameron wants children, something he’s been saying from the beginning. Plus, his ex shows up in town.
