Alexandra Breckenridge came close to spoiling some tantalising details about

the highly anticipated sixth season of Virgin River in her latest podcast episode.

Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge had to stop herself revealing some major plot details

for the next season of the hit Netflix show.

While fans wait for more romance and drama with Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), she’s started a new project with her co-star Zibby Allen.

Zibby portrays Jack’s sister Brie and is expected to return for the sixth instalment later this year, along with the likes of Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea and Tim Matheson as her husband Doc.

Netflix’s sixth outing hasn’t been given an exact release date just yet, but Martin confirmed back in June that filming had just about wrapped up.

What will happen in the small town next time is still being kept under wraps, but there was something big that Alexandra wasn’t allowed to reveal.

During a chat on their podcast I Like You Very Much, Zibby was apparently asking the lead actress about her hopes for some of the characters.

“I wish, I wish, I wish…” she said, before abruptly stopping herself. “Wait. Hmm. I can’t talk about it because it’s season six…

“No, sorry, I was like…” she added and made tongue-wagging sounds to demonstrate she almost revealed some juicy spoilers.

“Don’t! Scramble brain!” she admitted. “Not allowed to talk about that!”

Her co-star Zibby then knowingly sipped her tea while their guest Lauren Hammersley chuckled, taking care not to spill anything about the upcoming season.

In the caption of her post, Alexandra wrote: “Sometimes I am at a loss for words…

“And sometimes you just can’t spoil season 6 of your Netflix television show.”

Fans found the sweet moment hilarious, though some admitted they wouldn’t have minded a small spoiler considering how long they’ve already waited for the new season.

One of Alexandra’s followers replied: “Sometimes it’s better to stay quiet for a moment.

“Although I really wouldn’t mind S6 spoilers. Can’t wait for the new season!!”

Another fan exclaimed: “Darn! Thought we were getting a little tidbit on season 6.”

Thankfully, Virgin River fans won’t have too much longer to wait before new episodes of the romantic drama hit screens.

Although it was previously believed that season six would be released early next year, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has since confirmed it will arrive before the end of 2024.

During his Netflix Q2 earnings interview he confirmed: “Just before the end of this year we’ve got Squid Game’s return, Emily in Paris’s return, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind, Ryan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monsters.

“That’s all just coming up before the end of the year.”
