Virgin River fans have been given an all-important update on season six which

has prompted the same request regarding Jack and Mel’s highly anticipated return.

Virgin River has received a season six update but fans are now demanding something

in particular from the new upcoming episodes.

Netflix debuted the fifth series of the heartwarming romantic drama last month which resulted in an almighty cliffhanger.

So, it’s no wonder subscribers are keen for the next season to land on the streamer as soon as possible.

There has been a delay on work starting on season six though with the ongoing writers and actors strikes in Hollywood causing problems for many shows and films.

Thankfully, there has been an update on how things are coming along with bringing season six to life.

Taking to the official Virgin River Instagram account, a picture has been posted of some smiling faces gathered around a table.

The caption simply reads: “Thrilled to have our writing team back in action, diving into season six!”

With production now underway, it is hoped that Virgin River will return sometime in late 2024 for its sixth series.

While this was meant to be a happy post, followers couldn’t help but ask the writers for the same thing when it comes to the new episodes.

One follower pleaded: “More Mel and Jack pls, and not so dark like season 5…make it better, we like happy stories, which is the beauty of Virgin River.”

“Remember Martin and Alex are who make VR.

“Please bring them a child to love and let’s have their wedding. Let’s have lots of Mel and Jack”, said another.

A third commented: “Please more Mel and Jack love and let them have a baby.”

Other fans weren’t happy with how the fifth series played out as well, in comparison to the previous seasons.

They said: “I love VR. But I have to say that I found season 5 to be the worst of all.

“How did you manage to ruin the plot after such a beautiful 4th season?

“The characters lost connection. Where are Jack’s beautiful scenes with Mel?”

Another added: “Maybe you can get back to writing the VR Series that we loved.

“I think you have forgotten that we watch for the steamy scenes between Mel and Jack.”
