Virgin River star Martin Henderson has dropped a major clue which suggests Brady
could return to his life of crime in season five. As fans await the release of
Virgin Riverās fifth season, Jack Sheridan star Martin Henderson shed light
on what the eagerly awaited instalment could entail. This includes a shift in Jack and Bradyās (played by Ben Hollingsworth) friendship, which could see the ex-Marine resort back to crime.
Brady was introduced to viewers as one of Jackās closest friends, they had served in the Marines together but Brady struggled to adjust to normal life.
Whereas Jack was the friendly owner of the townās bar and restaurant.
After seeing Brady struggle, Jack offered him a job which seemed to be going well until Jack refused to make him manager.
This sparked a major argument which resulted in Brady quitting his job to work for the local gang leader, Calvin (David Cubitt) who also owned a large-scale drug business.
With Jack aware of Bradyās illegal dealings with Calvin, he was able to put a stop to them purchasing Lillyās (Lynda Boyd) farm under the guise of log work.
Calvin became furious with Jackās meddling and sent one of his men to work for Jack to intentionally poison the food and ultimately ruin Jackās reputation.
Calvin also tasked Brady to kill Spencer (Chad Rock) but he couldnāt go through with it and instead let Spencer leave Virgin River with his family and faked his death.
Brady confessed this to Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and admitted he made the wrong decision getting into business with Calvin.
Despite his regrets, Brady may decide to resort to crime in the upcoming season.
During an interview, Martin Sheridan teased: āThereās some degree of shift in how they relate.
āIāve only read the first four episodes, but weāre going to see them try to navigate some of that, and to what extent Jackās capable or willing to forgive some stuff.
āBut Brady, as a character, definitely has a lot of redemption in season four. I think thereās even more in season five. Thatāll definitely colour their relationship.ā
The actor continued: āI think itās wrong, though, if Brady is all of a sudden just this good guy. I donāt buy that, that heās just going to turn over. It feels trite.
āItās more interesting to have a character that he canāt help himself. At his heart, heās a good guy, been a bad guy, and then he gets even worse.
āBut then he is like, āOh, Iāve fallen in love. I want to be a better person,ā but how much does he get pulled back in?
āI think thatās good because then the audience is always going to be sitting on the edge of their seat, not really sure which way heās going to go,ā Martin added to Glamour.com
Brady had turned over a new leaf after falling in love with Jackās sister Brie Sheridan (Zibby Allen) but things took a turn for the worse after he was wrongfully arrested for the season two attack on Jack.
As he fought for his freedom, Brady was stabbed in the stomach by one of Calvinās men.
Thankfully, it missed a major artery so he survived the ordeal and although he was found to be innocent, his $500,000 bail was paid by an anonymous source.
After some investigation, Brie identified the generous donor as Melissa Montgomery, who would be taking over drug operations from Calvin.
In season five, fans could see Brady forced to return to crime to pay Melissa back, who seemingly wants him under her thumb.
