VIRGIN RIVER will return for season 4 in 2022, but will Mel Monroe experience another tragedy?

Virgin River is the romantic drama that has seen Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson)

and Mel Monroe’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) relationship gradually blossom.

There have been various ups and downs along the way in the Netflix series however, one of the latest being Jack getting shot in his bar. But it could be Mel’s turn to be at the heart of another storyline as fans predict there is trouble for her on the horizon.

Will Mel Monroe face another pregnancy trauma as fans spot clue?

As Mel disclosed in season two of Virgin River, she and her ex-husband Mark had been trying to have a baby for quite some time.

The couple were delighted when she was finally able to get pregnant.

However, tragedy struck as the baby was stillborn, leaving Mel and Mark devastated by the loss.

Mel suffered with postpartum depression which caused a rift between the couple.

They were arguing about trying another round of IVF treatment while he was driving which caused an accident and later on his death.

In season three, Mel revealed she was pregnant again but given the timing, she wasn’t sure if the baby was Jack’s or her late husband Mark’s.

Either way, fans are predicting there will be another health scare for Mel in season four.

Picking up on a moment in the series three finale, a Reddit user questioned: “I wonder if Mel is going to encounter some sort of life-threatening health issue.

“The foreshadowing being at the end of season three, when Jack compared his feelings for her to how Doc felt about Hope in the hospital.”

A second fan agreed, commenting: “Some health scare for Mel could be interesting, especially to see Jack’s reaction, after that cliffhanger I can’t imagine them being a ‘normal’ couple.”

Whereas a third interjected Jack possibly not be the father of Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) twins either.

They replied: “Ohh I could totally see that! I hope they give her a break though because she’s had so many health concerns already.

“Do you think her baby will be Jack’s? Imagine if her baby and Charmaine’s both aren’t his after all this!”

As Mel is pregnant and seeing as she had such a traumatic experience surrounding her first child, could there be even more issues this time around?

There is likely to be some trouble ahead as Mel did suffer from depression and could feel more anxious than ever as it in turn led to the death of her first husband.

But fans are just going to have to wait to see how Mel copes with the pregnancy and if Jack is the real father.

There will be plenty more to come from Virgin River as well over the next couple of years.
Subscribers were once again delighted in September when it was announced this wouldn’t be the end.

Netflix has already given the go-ahead for a fifth outing of the drama which could come out in the summer of 2023.
