Virgin River fans were treated to a sweet behind-the-scenes snapshot last week when

the show shared an adorable photo of one of the stars, Martin Henderson (a.k.a Jack), holding a baby.

The show’s Instagram account cheekily captioned the pic “Jack ready to be a Dad?…BTS S3” —

undoubtedly knowing that it would cause quite the stir among dedicated fans of the series. (SPOILERS: As of the season 3 finale, Mel is pregnant, but she’s not sure whether the baby is Jack’s or her dead husband, Mark’s. Drama!!!)

Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages like “Yes I believe he is ready mainly with his and Mel’s baby” and “Cuteness overload! We are gonna die seeing Jack with their baby. ”

Another fan chimed in with a bit of funny skepticism: “Ready or not, there he goes”

One fan took a stand that really resonated with other users (the comment has 245 likes!) — “While I have zero issues with looking at the show and books independently there is 1 thing that is non-negotiable. Mel and Jack need to end up happily married with kids.”

FWIW: The baby pictured in the photo is likely Chloe, Lilly’s daughter on the show, but it sure makes it easy to imagine Jack with a baby of his own!

While the show has not confirmed, well, anything, about the future plot, we’ll certainly be following along with the teasers. We can’t wait to see what season 4 has in store.
