VIRGIN RIVER season 3 is about to air on Netflix and fans are still wondering
who the father of Charmaineās children is. Jack Sheridan canāt have children?
Virgin River season three will be arriving on Netflix on July 9 and the trailer
has exposed some tragic moments. The latest season will focus on Mel Monroeās (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) desire to try for another baby. However, some fans believe her partner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) is unable to have children naturally.
Is Jack unable to have children?
Virgin River fans are excited to see how Jack and Melās relationship develops in the upcoming season.
The trailer, however, hints at some dark moments between the new couple as they both want different things.
The clip shows the residents of Virgin River asking Mel if she is ready to have a baby with the bar owner.
Mel, who has struggled with pregnancy in the past, takes time to think about the next stage of their relationship.
She is heard asking Jack how he would feel about trying for a baby, but he puts his guard up.
Mel is heard saying during an argument: āYouāre not listening to what I wantā.
Jack replies: āI know what you want, I just donāt know if I can give it to you.ā Some fans believe he is referring to his inability to have children.
This may also answer the question as to whether he is the father of his ex-girlfriend Charmaineās (Lauren Hammersley) children.
Viewers have taken to Reddit to discuss the theory, with one saying: āThe custody battle is either going to be over Christopher or over the twins.
āSomebody on here recently mentioned that Jackās whole āI know what you want, I just donāt know if I can give it to youā might be a hint that he finds out that he has fertility issues.
āWhich would be an unexpected way to find out that the twins arenāt his. Going to be interesting to see how quickly they kill off that whole storyline.ā
Another fan added: āAs someone else said, it wonāt be the end of the world if the twins are indeed Jackās, but I am more and more leaning into the theory that he finds out early on in S3 that they couldnāt possibly be his.ā
Season three will introduce Jackās sister, Brie (Zibby Allen), who is expected to help him through a court battle.
This could be in relation to a paternity test, which will determine the real father of Charmaineās children.
The series is based on the novels of the same name by Robyn Carr and in the books, Mel indeed gets pregnant.
With this in mind, it seems unlikely that Jack is going to have fertility issues if the series continues to follow the source material.
One fan suggested: āIām betting on Mel already being pregnant. The scene they put into the trailer from S2 really hints at it too.
āPeople complain a whole lot about how much they strayed from the books, but I honestly view it more as an abstraction of the books.
āIf you remove all of the drama, a whole bunch of the key moments are still there.
āIn the books, when Mel finds out sheās pregnant, she is worried that Jackās going to think she tricked him, they could just be running with that.
āThe whole āmisguided perception of the woman you loveā line from Doc ties into that theory.ā
Some viewers have suggested Mel is showing a small bump in the trailer, so she may have already been pregnant.
Fans are rooting for a happy ending for Jack and Mel, as they have both experienced tough relationship histories.
Mel lost her first baby during the birth, and it has taken her a long time to get over the tragic event.
Viewers are hoping she is able to move on and start a new life with Jack this season.
