PETER Barlow will be left hinting at a game-changing bombshell as he makes
a surprise return to the Cobbles. The show favourite will be seen back on the programme via
a brand new photograph that could send Carla into a tailspin.
Coronation Street fans will recall how Peter, played by Chris Gascoyne, fled Weatherfield for good on Boxing Day in order to enjoy life on the high seas.
Peter had been deeply unhappy having faced possible prosecution for his role in the death of Stephen Reid and had battled with his own inner-guilt.
It has caused his marriage to Carla to come under deep strain and she realised that he was growing apart from her amid his dream of escaping his current life.
In order to âset him freeâ, Carla and Peter mutually agreed to call time on their romance and that he would head off to join his pals working aboard a ship in order for him to become his old self again.

Peterâs adventures on the ship are set to be revisited next week when Simon Barlow reconnects with his dad.
Having been talked into a retreat ran by Rowanâs cult, Simon decides to head off on a new adventure.
Toyah and Nick are beyond desperate for him not to go and they bemoan the thought of him being corrupted.
In a bid of desperation, Toyah races to talk to Simon whilst Nick phones Peter to tell him all about the cult and how they are hoping to take Simon on a retreat.

With his bags fully packed, Toyah is left stunned but it is what Simon says next that shocks her even more.
He has accepted a job working alongside Peter on the boat.

Coronation Streetâs shock exits 2024
Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Letâs break down whoâs left the famous soap:
Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany.
The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the ÂŁ10,000 bribe Elizaâs
grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life.
Paul Foreman will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes.
After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite, portrayed by Peter Ash, was devastated to learn he only had months left to live.
Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering.
Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.
Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paulâs impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full.
Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles.
The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend.
Simonâs been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy.
Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.
It looks likely sheâll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind.
Show stalwart Eileen Grimshaw is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour.
Sheâs had to leave the Street immediately after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end.
