Ahead of Virgin River season 6, fans of the Netflix show have been discussing

the characters they “can’t stand”. Virgin River viewers have taken to social media

to call out a character they “hate” – and apparently, they “just get worse”.

Fans of the Netflix show have talked about the character they “can’t stand” in a discussion thread on Reddit.

The character in question is Charmaine Roberts, played by Lauren Hammersley, who is introduced as the friend and ex-girlfriend of Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). Fans have particularly taken issue with the way Charmaine treats Virgin River’s main character Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and the threat she poses to her relationship with Jack.

Ahead of season six, Reddit user @ixte_ shared their thoughts in a post entitled ‘First watcher here! Thoughts on Charmaine?!’

They wrote: “Alright, I’m in season 2, my mom convinced me to watch it, and, so far, I’m loving it! What I’m not loving though is Charmaine…

“She’s a pain in the ass, condescending, rude, and a liar… The way she keeps treating Mel, specially when it comes to Jack.

“Her implying that ‘Jack will spend the night with me here now, because he says he’ll do anything to help me’ after Jack EXPLICITLY shows her how UNCOMFORTABLE he is with doing that and how he DOESN’T want to… I mean, a B****! Poor Mel… she keeps sabotaging Mel and Jack’s relationship!” (sic)

Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts on Charmaine, with one agreeing: “I hate her, and she just gets worse.”

“Honestly Charmaine is the worst,” another commented with a laughing emoji, while one more concurred: “We all hate her.”

“If you dislike her now you will despise her soon,” another fan warned, as yet another stated: “She’s an awful human.”

“Yep, she is the worst and she doesn’t get any better. But, she was convinced that Jack was going to ‘pick’ her,” one more viewer lamented.

“And then there’s the fans that hate Jack because he ‘used’ her and was so mean to her after he met Mel…. OH Boo Hoo! She’s a t****.” (sic)

While a more hopeful fan mused: “It’s sad b/c she’s clearly broken hearted that the man she’s in love with doesn’t love her, but she’s lashing out at Mel becasue she’s really upset with Jack. I’m in S2 as well and I’m hoping we get to see Charmaine’s character mature and move on and find love.” (sic)

Another agreed: “If they’re going to keep the character they should give her growth and a new love interest. So tired of that storyline.”

While one more praised the actress behind Charmaine, writing: “She is awful, but the actor who plays her is AWESOME on Instagram.”
