Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) makes a discovery in Coronation Street this week

that changes the course of Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) investigation.

Kit and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) found Joel’s car on a bridge recently in the ITV soap along

with a note that suggested the evil man had ended his life.

In upcoming episodes, Craig (Colson Smith) and Kit study some CCTV from a train station carpark that reveals Joel and his dad snooping around a locker. Kit takes Joel’s dad Gus in for questioning and demands some answers.

Meanwhile, three lads spot a body floating in the river. Craig later approaches Swain and Kit and announces the body is Joel’s.

As Kit prepares to break the news to Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Lauren (Cait Fitton), Lisa reveals the update to everyone in the Rovers.

A while later, however, Kit calls back at the hospital and tells Lauren that the post mortem reveals that Joel was dead before he entered the river, meaning he has been murdered.

As Kit gets to work questioning Lauren, Dee-Dee tells Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) that Joel has been killed.

Further information reveals that Joel died from two blows to the head, inflicted by a heavy weapon, most likely a crowbar.

Towards the end of the week, Ronnie’s plans to celebrate his 55th birthday come to a halt due to the arrival of Kit and his colleague. They bring Ronnie and Ed in for questioning and during his interview, Ronnie insists he was home alone the night Joel went missing.

After Ronnie explains that he last used the satnav when he and Michael (Ryan Russell) helped Joel move out of his flat, Michael reveals at Ronnie’s party that they actually drove to Joel’s flat in his car.

Ronnie’s partner Debbie (Sue Devaney) then realises he has lied, but what will she do?
