Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was still in the police station being questioned by
DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) when tonightâs episode of Coronation Street began.
On Monday, Joel was arrested after Swain and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown)
worked out he had been involved in Laurenâs (Cait Fitton) life.
Despite the very lengthy interview, Swainâs determination showed no signs of decreasing when we joined the two characters again.
Unfortunately for her, the interrogation wasnât as straightforward as she hoped due to Joelâs ability to manipulate a situation.
When topic of conversation turned to the drugs Lauren consumed that put her in early labour, Joel made out that she had purchased them herself with the intention of illegally aborting their baby.
In Weatherfield, everyone was talking about Joel and Lauren. While the young mum received sympathy from some residents, she was also challenged over the fact Lauren didnât speak up when the police wrongly arrested Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) for the crime.
Lauren was then informed that Joel had been released. At the flat, he tried to worm his way back into Dee-Deeâs life, but she wasnât having any of it.
Feeling frustrated, Joel made his way back to the station to speak to Lisa. There, he alluded to the fact he needed to share more information about Dee-Dee and Lauren working together to conspire against him.
Swain struggled to believe Joel but she had a job to do, so they returned to the interview room once more.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Dee-Dee was by Laurenâs side. Desperate to support her, Dee-Dee revealed she had got access to Joelâs phone earlier that day and downloaded a tracking app.
She then put the same app on Laurenâs phone and hoped it would help her feel a tiny bit safer, because she can now see if Joel is on his way to see her.
While Joel is smart and knows how the police system works as a result of his job â Dee-Dee is smarter.
