Coronation Street’s Bernie Winter, played by Jane Hazelgrove, is a fan favourite known

for her bold personality and unlucky love life. However, off-screen,

Jane has been happily married to fellow soap star Isobel Middleton since 2015.

Bernie first graced our screens in 2019 with a dramatic entrance, involving a storyline where she stole her pregnant daughter’s urine to sell fake positive pregnancy tests. Since then, she has become a beloved character on the street, known for her fierce loyalty to her family.

Away from the cobbles, Jane occasionally shares insights into her personal life. During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine in 2019, she spoke fondly of her “beautiful” wife, joking that they’ve never worked together, which might be why their relationship is so strong.

“She’s sensational, a really beautiful woman. I am very blessed,” Jane said of Isobel, who has had roles in Emmerdale as Dr Lane in 2014, a prosecution barrister during Simon McManus’s trial in 2018, and Jean Rawson in 2020. She also appeared in EastEnders as Sadie Banks in 2002, according to the Liverpool Echo.

In May, he took to Twitter to express his pride for his spouse’s achievement before The British Soap Awards, saying: “Very proud that my sublimely talented and hilarious wife has been nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the #soapawards2022 We can’t vote but if I could I would.
