Life forĀ Fiz StapeĀ (Jennie McAlpine) looks set to get considerably busier
in Coronation Street next week as she receives some important news.
The character was away for a huge portion of 2023, working as a supervisor for
Underworld inĀ NorwichĀ ā a storyline that was devised to facilitate Jennie McAlpineās maternity leave.
Now back in Weatherfield and busy building a relationship with Tyroneās (Alan Halsall) biological mother Cassie (Claire Sweeney), as well as dealing with the usual drama that comes with living on the cobbles, Fiz gets a shocking reminder of her past in upcoming episodes.
When Debbie (Sue Devaney) and Rita (Barbara Knox) approach Fiz in the café, they reveal the leader of some human trafficking group in Romania is going on trial and Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) could be called as a witness.

If we cast our minds back to 2019,Ā Seb FranklinĀ (Harry Visinoni) foundĀ Alina had been trafficked into the UKĀ to work at a nail salon, with her ābossā confiscating her passport to prevent her returning home.
After setting up home in Coronation Street, it wasnāt long before she drove a wedge between Tyrone and his long-term partner Fiz.
Their nine year relationship came to an end, and they both moved into the salon flat together. Tyroneās pyromaniac daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) wasnāt best pleased by their union, andĀ lit a fire in the flat which caused Alina to miscarry a baby.
A few weeks later, she announced she was expecting again, but was upset when she learnt that heād lied about Hopeās behaviour and decided to jet off to Romania.
Tyrone quickly found her at the Chariot Square Hotel, but she told him that sheād got her dates wrong and was never pregnant in the first place.
However, at the airport departures lounge, she ordered a tomato juice and cradled her stomach,Ā indicating that she was pregnant after all.
The mention of Alina will leave Fiz feeling very anxious indeed, but how on earth will she react if Alina arrives back in Weatherfield and she does have a child with her, as we expected?!
