Home and Away聽star Lynne McGranger has shared a big health update with her fans,
revealing on Instagram that she has had her thyroid removed. The Irene Roberts star posted
a photo of herself smiling while lying in a hospital bed, dressed in a white gown,
and shared that she has recently “parted ways” with her “toxic overactive thyroid”.
“It was a long time coming- we were incompatible and quite frankly I was exhausted,” she wrote.
The actor went on to “thank all the amazing people at the Mater Hospital North Sydney for making this giant life step so much easier than it might have been”, adding that she couldn’t recommend the hospital “more highly”.
“I’m healing well and so far I don’t miss that dirty thyroid one bit!” she concluded. “Stay tuned for Scar spam”.
McGranger’s co-star Emily Symons, who plays Marilyn Chambers, commented, “Amazing … sending you lots of love Lynnie and wishing you a super speedy recovery”.
Many of the star’s followers also wished her well, with one commenting, “Get well soon! There’s no scar that a diamond necklace can’t hide”, while another wrote, “Swift healing. Rest up and hope you feel amazing soon.”
Irene has recently been at the centre of a major storyline, as聽she was conned by manipulative newcomer Bronte Langford.
With Irene blaming herself for trusting Bronte,聽she has experienced a sad alcohol relapse聽and聽also given a worrying interview to local paper聽Coastal News.
After Irene spoke harshly about herself and vowed never to help anyone again, her friend Leah Patterson was left concerned about what the article might do to Irene. Despite her pleas with journalist Fleur not to print the article, Fleur refused as she was keen to secure her first front page story.
