Home and Away has seen the drama dialled up a notch with the re-introduction of
the River Boys, but thereâs one shady character that some fans arenât enamoured with.
David âDingoâ Lewis, played by JK Kazzi, has caused nothing but trouble since his introduction.
Not only has he given Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) an ominous warning â telling him the River Boys were now âwatching himâ â but heâs getting Mali Hudson (Kyle Shilling) mixed up in the gangâs antics. This week, he asked Mali to take care of a suspicious packaged bag for him, and upcoming promos show a raid on the River Boysâ headquarters, with Dingo a prime suspect for murder.
His character is naturally cheeky and likes to stir up trouble, but some fans believe thereâs no place for him in Summer Bay, saying they’ve taken a dislike to him straight away.
However, other fans have said that if they don’t like the character, that means JK is an excellent actor because he’s portrayed a dark character so effectively.
âI hate this character⊠zero respect for authority and nothing anyone can do about it,â another added.
âThis [storyline] will drag on and on. Just get on with crushing them then give Felicity whatâs coming to her as well. Should be all over [in] a week,â a third wrote.
âThat Dingo dude has the coldest eyes,â another remarked.
Home and Away fans defend JK Kazziâs character Dingo
JK Kazzi is a young talent who just recently graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts. While heâs been in a few stage shows, the role of David âDingoâ Lewis is his first breakout role.
Plenty of fans came to his defence and said he was doing his job well if he was riling viewers up.
âWhether you love or hate Dingo youâve got to admit heâs doing his job as a character. In my opinion and I do say my opinion, I donât like Dingo but love him as an actor,â the fan wrote.
âUsually I wouldnât say something but when it comes to [opinions] about the actors or actresses on Home and Away and you donât like them, move on. There is no need to bully them.â
Many agreed with her, with one saying: âHe is so funny but so agree, he is a good actor, he is playing that part so good.â
âHeâs definitely got character, quick wit and charm,â another added.
âI like him, he plays [his character] very [well], he is a natural,â a third chimed in.
Another group member said it was frustrating to constantly see fans savaging the show.
âVery sad [fans] have to bring this sort of negativity into Home and Away. There is enough of this going on in the real world, donât need it in what should be our happy place too,â they wrote.
The show has teased drama to come, saying the River Boy saga will âend, one way or anotherâ. Whether this is hinting at arrests, or the more dramatic Summer Bay option of death, this storyline will likely be tied up soon.
