Next week, Home and Away will introduce a new character, Perri, as part of
Tane Parataās (Ethan Browne) latest storyline. Cantona Stewart has been cast as Perri,
who will join Taneās new initiative for troubled teens. Perri will make his debut
on Australian screens on Wednesday, July 10th, and in the UK in late August. Tane, after being charged with the kidnapping of baby Poppy last month, has started a program for troubled teens. He had grown attached to the baby, renaming her Maia, after finding her abandoned on the beach. When he couldn’t foster her, he decided to take her away, hiding out at his cousin Kiriās (David Wikaira-Paul) house.
Thanks to his lawyer Marshall (Nic English), Tane convinced the judge that his actions were out of a strong desire to start a family, though misguided. While acknowledging that Tane meant no harm and that Poppy was never in danger, the judge still applied the law, giving Tane a seven-year sentence. However, he was allowed to serve this time under an intensive corrections order within the community. The judge also ordered Tane to attend a training and counseling program to prevent future harmful behavior.
Tane completed his counseling program and returned to Summer Bay with a renewed sense of purpose. He proposed a āgym program for disadvantaged youthā to Roo (Georgie Parker) and John (Shane Withington), offering free boot camps and full access to Summer Bay Fitās equipment. Roo was immediately supportive, while John was initially skeptical, especially about the programās references to ājuvenile criminal re-offendersā and āanger management.ā
However, John eventually came around, and Perri is set to be the initiativeās first participant. Cantona described Perri as a vulnerable, troubled teen facing many challenges, promising lots of drama. Back to the Bay had previously revealed Perriās arrival, with audition videos hinting at his backstory as a former juvenile offender.
Perriās involvement in Taneās new scheme hints at a storyline where he learns self-defense and tries to avoid further trouble. With his 18th birthday approaching, heās determined to stay out of prison. Whether Perri can turn his life around in Summer Bay remains to be seen.
In addition to Perri, other new characters will soon arrive in Summer Bay. Last week saw the debut of new River Boys Rory (Joshua Orpin) and Dingo (JK Kazzi), who will cause trouble for Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and possibly woo his sister, Felicity. Additionally, Hailey Pinto is expected to play Abigail Fowler, Edenās (Stephanie Panozzo) sister, with scenes set to air around August-September. Aaron Jeffery will join as James āJimmyā Fowler, potentially Eden and Leviās father, while Rachael Carpani will appear as Claudia Salini, further expanding the cast.
