Coronation Street fans are in for a rollercoaster of emotions next week,
with a surprise visitor and a beloved character rushed to hospital.
Fans will remember that Roy Cropper, a soap legend, was released from prison this year after being falsely accused of murdering Lauren Bolton.
However, since his return to Weatherfield, life hasn’t been easy for Roy. Next week, he leaves the cafe to deliver some homemade soup to Shona, who claims she’s unwell, only to be accosted by a group of thugs.
After they hurl insults at him, he falls to the ground. Carla rushes to help him, but it’s clear he’s in pain.

However, when Shona confesses she wasn’t actually sick, Roy sends her and Evelyn away. As Shona is explaining the situation to Nina, an ambulance arrives on the scene.
Nina and Shona rush back into the cafe to find Roy receiving CPR. He’s quickly taken to hospital, where a mysterious visitor appears at his bedside.
As Roy drifts in and out of consciousness, his visitor stays with him before vanishing. Later, Roy tells Nina about his unexpected guest, leaving her wondering if he was hallucinating.

In other news on the cobbles next week, Maria is shocked to receive a letter stating that Mason is due to be released from prison. The teenage bully was incarcerated earlier this year for threatening Liam Connor with a knife.
Maria heads to the police station, oblivious that Gary is there with Sarah, handing over his bank statements. As Gary emerges from the interview room, Maria demands an explanation.

Meanwhile, Leanne informs Nick of her plans to spend the day caring for Toyah. However, cult leader Rowan rings and invites Leanne to a taster session for potential new members.
Toyah offers to accompany her, but upon their arrival at the Chariot Square Hotel for the new recruits session, Leanne is thrilled to spot Amy among the attendees.
