Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) is in serious danger in Coronation Street this week
as he goes up against Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce). Super Soap Week sees the storyline come
to a head as the character once again becomes suspicious of the businessman â
and later finds a body floating in the canal.
And with things becoming even more dramatic in the aftermath of his discovery, speculation is rife that Tim could become Stephenâs final victim â but weâll have to keep watching to see whether heâs about to make a sad exit.
âCoronation Streetâs been absolutely brilliant for me, and itâs been an absolute joy to work onâ, Joe told us, reflecting on the prospect of leaving the show.
âSo, if thatâs the way the character has to go, thatâs the way he has to go, and Iâll just be grateful for the time Iâve spent here. Obviously, Iâd be incredibly sad, but thatâs the nature of the show.â
Even if he is bidding farewell to the show, it wonât be the end of Joeâs link to Corrie â as heâs married to one of his co-stars, Sally Carman, aka the soapâsAbi Webster.
The pair, who recently reached a romantic milestone, recently treated fans to their snaps of a weekend away in London â with Sallyvisiting landmarks like Trafalgar Square and a number of restaurants.
âHad a lovely couple of days in London with this handsome fella,â Sally wrote, alongside the carousel of photos. âBig shout out to the sun for showing up.â
How long have the pair been together, when did they marry â and do they have children?
How long have Joe Duttine and Sally Carman been together?
Rumours that Joe and Sally were dating first began to surface in 2018.
The pair were photographed at the soapâs summer party that year, amid reports they had been on a string of dates together, and told co-stars they were in a relationship.
Sally announced in 2019 that she and Joe had moved in together in a sweet Instagram post.
Sally captioned the message with : âWeâre in #homesweethome #thelightisntwonkyhonestâ.
They took things to the next level when the pair announced in 2020 that they were engaged, after going into lockdown together.
They confirmed their happy news just days after the Coronation Street set was shut down in the wake of the pandemic, with Joe sharing a photo of he and Sally toasting their happy news â and her stunning emerald ring on clear display.
Joe wrote alongside the picture: âShe said yes everyone, convid 19 can f**k offâŠâ
However, the happy couple later admitted during an appearance on Lorraine that things were far from easy when they first met.
When asked if the pair clicked immediately, Sally stumbled before she said: â⊠Slowly.
âFriends for a while but then we started sharing puddings and thatâs when I thought maybe something was on the boil.â
Despite their union offscreen though, the couple donât share a lot of scenes together in the soap â which comes as a relief to Sally, as she has admitted she finds it incredibly hard to work with her other half.
âHeâs the funniest man Iâve ever met, to the point where I get sweaty and everyoneâs like: âugh, can you just get on with it?â she told the Daily Star.
âI never want to work with him ever again. I just canât do it!â
How long have Joe Duttine and Sally Carman been married?
The couple finally tied the knot in July 2022 after delaying their wedding several times due to the pandemic.
Sally, who wore a blue dress for the occasion, once again shared the happy news with her Instagram followers â showing a photo of her and Joe kissing in front of a ring of balloons.
âWe didâ, she wrote, followed by a yellow heart emoji, which is perhaps a reference to her social media caption from 2020, when she announced her and Joeâs engagement with a simple: âI didâ.
They recently celebrated their first anniversary, with Joe paying tribute to his wife in the form of a watercolour drawing marking their special day.
âOne year, happy anniversary Mrs,â he captioned the Instagram post â with co-stars including Andrew Whyment and Sally Ann Matthews among those sending congratulatory messages to the couple.
Do Joe Duttine and Sally Carman have children?
The couple do not have any children together.
However Sally is stepmum to Joeâs three children, aged 25, 14 and 12, from a previous relationship.
âTheyâre gorgeous kids, itâs so easy and I feel really lucky to have that extension of a family,â the actress previously told the Mirror.
âNot to be a mother figure, because theyâve got a mum and they donât need another, but just to have a relationship and some part in their journey into adulthood is amazing.â
