– and they fear Joel might abduct her in a depraved act of vengeance.
As fans of the ITV soap will know, Joel is the father of Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) child after a romance earlier this year.
In what seemed like a lethal twist, Lauren was presumed dead following a brutal altercation with Joel, only to shockingly re-emerge expecting his son. Unaware of her husband-to-be’s dark past, Dee-Dee is on the brink of stumbling over his sordid secrets.
Confusion first struck when Dee-Dee grilled her fiance about a mysterious Belfast trip she was ignorant of. Joel brushed it off as a forgotten work commitment, but this did little to ease her doubts.
Suspicion escalated for Dee-Dee upon discovering Joel hadn’t splurged £300 on a bracelet for his daughter as he claimed, which left her puzzled over his actual purchase.

Alarm bells rang louder when Dee-Dee unearthed a vial of nail varnish at Joel’s empty apartment and started to wonder if infidelity was afoot, reports the Liverpool Echo.
However, the real peril looms as Dee-Dee inches closer to piecing together the mosaic of Joel’s lies. However, could this put her in harms way?
Some Corrie enthusiasts are convinced that the rogue Joel will imminently bare his sinister stripes to Dee-Dee in a new evil twist.
Dee-Dee has been worried about Joel’s recent behaviour
A concerned viewer took to X, airing their apprehension by saying: “How long until we see Joel keeping DeeDee as hostage? Mark my words.”
A second viewer tweeted, “Swain AND DeeDee now suspicious of Joel. Batten down the hatches #Corrie”. Another alarmed fan added: “Creepy Joel is back again.”
Another Corrie enthusiast expressed their discomfort: “Joel gives me the ick, that mask is slipping come on DeeDee #Corrie”, highlighting unease with the character’s development.
