Coronation Street viewers have been left distracted by a big detail amid Lauren Bolton’s shock comeback.
Weeks on from a brutal attack by Joel Deering, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive as she headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper after he suffered a heart attack weeks on from him being wrongly imprisoned for Lauren’s ‘murder’.
And things only got more explosive on Tuesday’s episode when Joel confronted Lauren at the hospital, forcing her into a family room and pleading with her not to reveal all about what happened. As violent and evil Joel went to lash out again, Lauren protected her stomach revealing she was five months pregnant with his baby in a huge bombshell.
The episode ended with Lauren managing to escape the hospital and fleeing in a taxi, as Joel set chase to cover his tracks as he deliberately hid his face from CCTV cameras. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were left confused as to how Lauren, who is still presumed dead and missing on the cobbles, was able to be in the hospital unidentified to staff around her and no one questioned her fleeing the building in a panic.
One person said: “Seriously Laurenās face is EVERYWHERE,Ā hospitalsĀ of all places would be on high alert and yet no one recognises her?? #CoronationStreet #Corrie”, a different account put: “Do the nurses in the hospital not watch the TV? how has that nurse seen lauren in royās room and not recognised as the girl from the TV whoās been āmissingā? #coronationstreet #corrie” while another added: “Hold on why arenāt there security watching the hospital CCTV??? #Corrie.”

It comes as actress Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren, went toĀ great lengths to keep her huge soap return a secret. Cait told how she had to hide in the boot of her co-starās car to ensure she wasnāt spotted when filming her return scenes. “I had to sneak in and out the building, getting lifts from Calum but having to get in the boot to make sure I wasnāt being seen,” laughed Cait, 22.
“People would be at the front getting selfies, Iād be in the boot still. So it was a bit chaotic! It was like a massive game of twister in that boot, it was tiny. There were times when I had to get on the floor in a taxi, the driver was wondering whatās going on ā and Iād just shout go go go! It was mad. Fun but mental. I never thought I would have to be doing that to get into work.”
