A FORMER Coronation Street star has suggested she is due to return to the cobbles two years
on from her last show appearance. Melanie Hill has caused a commotion among
Corrie fans after posing up a storm with her former co-star David Neilson.

Her character Cathy was linked to David’s character Roy romantically for a number of years before they realised they had a purely platonic friendship.
Cathy left the cobbles in 2022 amid a series of ups and downs in her life after actress Melanie opted to quit the soap after seven years to spend more time with family.
She later when on to join the cast of the BBC medical drama Casualty as Siobhan Mackenzie where she remains to this day.
However, in recent weeks, Cathy has been referenced on the Corrie cobbles once again amid a turbulent time for Roy.
Having just got out of prison after false accusations that he killed the living Lauren Bolton and a distressing hospital stint, Roy decided he needed to take some time away from Weatherfield.
He chose to go and see Cathy in Scarborough for a few days and spend time catching up with his old pal.
Now Melanie has shared a new snap with David after a seaside catch-up with one another.
She captioned the photo: “Greetings from Scarborough #RoyandCathy.
Melanie then added: “He’s feeling much better! It’s the sea air.”
It sparked rumours among loyal Coronation Street fans that the scenes between the two could actually be appearing on the programme.

However, The Sun can confirm that Melanie is not returning to the soap and it was just a social meeting.
David and Melanie’s surprise meeting comes just days after David was turned away from the Corrie set by security.
Staff refused to let the actor, 75, onto the site, despite his exasperated insistence that he was his famous alter-ego.
He pressed a buzzer and said: “Roy Cropper. I’m on the show.”
As David paused at the site’s black gates, he was approached by a fan who asked him for an autograph.
The actor duly obliged and asked staff “Why do you think I’m standing here signing these? Why do you think?” while putting pen to paper.
