Virgin River stars Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson are having
a blast on set! As fans eagerly await season six, Alexandra, 42, gave them
a sneak peek behind the scenes on Saturday. Reflecting on their season five shoot,
she shared a fun reel of Martin—who plays Jack Sheridan.
“One time on Virgin River, I was on a Ferris wheel with Martin Henderson. He kept rocking it, freaked me out, and I yelled at him,” she captioned the video. Since they began working together in 2019, the co-stars have developed a close friendship.
In February, the duo traveled to Vancouver to start filming the sixth season of Virgin River, which is expected to premiere later this year, though an official release date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
While details have been scarce recently, Alexandra reassured fans that “a lot of information” would be revealed soon. “I’m not going to spoil it, but just know that some info is going to start seeping out soon,” she said at the start of September.
Alexandra also shared some insights about filming season six, which will consist of 10 episodes. “It was intense,” she revealed. “Not necessarily because of the content, but more the filming process. We were on location a lot,” she teased. “What does that mean? We don’t know.”
The upcoming season will pick up a few months after season five, where Mel uncovered the identity of her biological father, Everett Reid, who had been living in Virgin River.
“The big new mystery this season is Mel’s biological father, Everett Reid, who has a long-held secret,” showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told Tudum. Meanwhile, Mel and Jack will continue their journey toward parenthood and work on turning Lilly’s farm into their dream home.
As of August, it seems season six has entered post-production, with Martin, 49, sharing a photo from the editing room. In the background, fans spotted a shot of Mel and Jack chatting with big smiles.
Season six will also be a special milestone for Martin, as Virgin River’s official Instagram confirmed in April that he will be making his directorial debut.
