the young versions of Mel’s parents, Sarah and Everett Reid. The new season, set to arrive on Netflix in late 2024, will introduce these two new characters through flashbacks, showcasing their love story in the 1970s.
First look images released by Tudum provide a glimpse of the young lovers in 1972. On the other hand, Everett is depicted as a handsome and free-spirited singer-songwriter with a poet’s soul, currently living life on the road in a VW van. Their chance encounter promises to be a captivating storyline that will add depth to the series.

The plot thickens as Mel and her fiancé Jack embark on a mission to find Everett, who initially hesitated but later expressed a desire to have a relationship with his long-lost daughter. The season ended with a cliffhanger, hinting at an important revelation from Everett, which is expected to unfold in Virgin River season 6. Showrunner Patrick Sean-Smith has teased that the upcoming season will delve into Everett’s backstory, his connection to Virgin River, and his relationship with Mel.
