The notorious character, brother to Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor),
has been serving time in prison since March. Damon, a former drug dealer,
initially seemed to be turning over a new leaf after returning to Weatherfield last year
to mend things with Sarah Platt (Tina OāBrien).
After driving his innocent son Jacob (Jack James Ryan) out of the area, Damon vowed to his new girlfriend, Sarah, that he would leave his criminal past behind and focus on building a future with her and her son Harry.
However, things took a dark turn when Sarahās estranged husband, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), decided to intervene. Adam, teaming up with the dangerous Harvey, hatched a plan to eliminate Damon from the cobbles for good, but the scheme went awry. In a desperate attempt to protect Sarah and salvage the situation, Damon agreed to participate in an armed robbery orchestrated by his brother. The heist led to his eventual arrest.
Just a few months ago, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) delivered the crushing news that Damon had been sentenced to six years behind bars.
After leaving the show, Ciaran returned to Australia, where he resides with his wife and son. However, recent reports suggest that Ciaran has been spotted at Media City in Manchester, where Coronation Street is filmed.
According to a source who spoke to The Sun, āCiaran has been seen on set in recent days, which will come as a surprise to fans since he left the show and returned to Australia. The actor is called back whenever the show needs to depict Damon in prison, so itās likely that another character will be heading to jail soon, as Damonās release isnāt imminent.ā
Since Damonās departure, Sarahās life has been relatively calm. Sheās primarily focused on supporting her daughter Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), who has been on a quest to uncover who stole her old company credit card.
A source told Metro.co.uk: āThis is a major storyline for Bethany, and viewers will see her travel abroad for cosmetic surgery. As with many unregulated procedures, things donāt go as planned.ā
Cosmetic tourism has been a hot topic in recent years, with Brits opting for cheaper procedures like boob jobs, gastric bands, facelifts, and āTurkey teethā abroad rather than paying higher prices in the UK. The NHS advises carefully considering the potential risks against the savings, as safety standards may not be as high in other countries.
