Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) had the day from hell in Mondayâs (June 24)
episode of Coronation Street. As soon as morning broke, she was stressing over
being unable to afford some new shoes for Carys, her young daughter.
While Carys was at nursery, things got even worse for Gemma when she received a ÂŁ70 parking fine. When Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) discovered the letter she was shocked, with an upset Gemma pointing out that she only has ÂŁ20 to last her till the end of the week.
Gemma then received a call from the nursery informing her Carys was upset because her shoes were rubbing on her feet. Feeling terrible, Gemma took her to a shoe shop and found some smart looking ones that she believed were in the sale.
Sadly, the assistant told Gemma the shoes werenât at a discounted price and she couldnât find anymore in Carysâ size.
When the shop worker walked away, Gemma reflected on her situation and hated how unfair the world was treating her. Not wanting her daughter to suffer, she kept the shiny shoes on Carysâ feet and legged it out of the store.
Returning home, Bernie found Gemma and wondered how she could afford to get some new shoes for Carys, but stressed over paying a parking fine.

After Bernie discovered Gemmaâs crime, she returned to the store and placed the shoes back, but was spotted by the owner.
That evening, with Gemma back at home, hoping the matter had been put in the past, she got the shock of her life when the shop owner arrived at the front door, ready to pick his son up â aka Josephâs (William Flanagan) mate.
The man alluded to calling the police before the episode ended, and we know in upcoming episodes Gemma will end up in a cell, and will speak to Kit (Jacob Roberts), unaware heâs her brother.
Will Gemma end up behind bars for this crime?
Or will she be saved by her sibling?
