Bad news if youâre a fan of Emmerdale and Coronation Street, as both soaps wonât air tonight on ITV.
With the summer of sports continuing, soaps are feeling the impact as once again
their schedules are being altered. Itâs something which divides the fandoms,
often at war with each other as to who deserves the coveted place within the schedules.
This is largely down to the Euros 2024. The championship takes place every four years, though the last one was held in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The first game of the group stages kicked off on Friday, June 14th and disruption to our visits to soapland can be expected through to the final in Berlin on Sunday, July 14th.
As always, Metro.co.uk has everything you need to know on what football game will air tonight, and when the soaps will return to our screens.

Why wonât Emmerdale and Coronation Street air tonight?
Due to the second semi-final airing on ITV tonight, there isnât enough room in the schedules for Emmerdale and Coronation Street to be broadcasted as well.
Ahead of the final on Sunday, England will play the Netherlands in a match kicking off at 8pm tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:30, right through to 10:45.
They have to think about extra time and penalties, of course!
When will Emmerdale and Coronation Street return?
You donât have to wait too long to see the residents of the Emmerdale village again, as the show will return on Thursday (July 11).
Due to the UEFA Euro 2025 Qualifier airing on Friday (July 12), it also means only one episode of Emmerdale will be broadcasted at 7pm, with Coronation Street not returning to our screens until Monday July 15.

Itâs been quite the week in Weatherfield. Following the confirmation Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) was actually alive, a flashback episode on Tuesday (July 9) allowed us to learn more about the moments before she was attacked by Joel (Calum Lill), and their dark and toxic relationship.
To Joelâs shock, Lauren also confirmed that she is pregnant with his baby, and has every intention of keeping the little one.
In the Dales, Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash) revealed they would spend time away from the village for a holiday in Bali, hoping to reconnect after Nickyâs (Lewis Cope) exit and Ethanâs (Emile John) hit and run.
We also discovered Matty (Ash Palmisciano) had been attacked in prison, but it was then confirmed he had asked friend Les to beat him up so he could be taken to the safety of the hospital â but that backfired badly.
