Home and Away’s Matt Evans has revealed that a beloved character on the long-running
soap opera is about to be killed off. The 26-year-old actor and singer-songwriter,
who first gained popularity as a contestant on The Voice in 2019, dropped the huge bombshell live
on The Morning Show on Friday.
“All I can say is next week a stranger will come into the Bay and someone will die,” he said ominously while looking straight into the camera, leaving hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies spooked.
While he didn’t reveal which character will be leaving Summer Bay, there have already been a number of clues and theories shared in various fan pages on social media.
Leaked footage from a tense scene shot in Palm Beach in December 2023 showed Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) holding a brunette woman who is severely hurt and shouting: “She’s been shot! Somebody call an ambulance!”
As the series shoots approximately five to six months in advance, this storyline is likely coming up soon.
Recent storylines have focussed on Cash working as a bodyguard for famous Hollywood actress Stevie Marlow (Catherine Văn-Davies) as she’s been stalked by a deranged fan, so a majority of viewers are convinced that she’s the character who will killed off.
Meanwhile, others have guessed that Cash’s girlfriend Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) could be the shooting victim.
